Watermelon Prints...red and all derivatives thereof being my favorite color, I love painting red, ripe, luscious, watermelons--from their growing and harvesting stage to their being on the table with a butcher knife for cutting, a spoon for scooping out the melon, and even a box of Morton Salt for those who like a few grains to enhance the flavor. I like mine "neat" however. So realistic, you will want to lick the screen.....so please look, but do restrain yourself...

Watermelon-Spoons-Morton Salt BoxPrint. If it was really ripe, you could hear it crack a little. If the grown-ups were around, we ate it with spoons however if they left us unattended we "dug in" with our fingers. There was always the old saltbox handy, as some of my family liked a sprinkle or two--not me though. I wanted mine red, ripe, and sweet, sweet, sweet!! When we were done eating, my sister and I would sometimes make us some "false teeth" from the rind. I wonder what George Washington would have thought of that! BWms
